Earth Day Coming & “The Big Fix”

Transition California

Transitioning California to Sustainable Models, Systems, & Structures

Greetings Transition California Community

Earth Day is coming and after watching ‘Fuel‘ we followed a lead that Bob Banner gave us about another movie by the same producers that is called ‘The Big Fix’. It is about the aftermath of the Gulf Oil spill that everyone with a brain cell knows is not being reported in mainstream media. The movie will be officially released in June but the producers are fundraising and offering a special chance to host screenings to groups and organizations for Earth Day – Click here for more info and to watch the trailer.

HOW ARE YOU?

Check in with us and share your ideas for a statewide Transition California Community initiative. There are almost 1500 people in this community who live all over the state and if you read the profiles of each individual you will see that this community is made up of people who understand the “Power of One’ in their own lives. What would happen if all those people joined in common cause and took initiative? Maybe it is time to find out what the California Titans of Transition are capable of…Click here to read more

Gathering of Transitioners in Bridport

Transition Town Monthly News – March 2012

SATURDAY 28th APRIL – Transition / green groups networking event

Hi All,

This is a preliminary notice about an event we are planning for 28 April, so that you can circulate the date for your members to put in their diaries!

On Saturday 28 April we will have a networking event and general gathering for transition groups and other green groups from around Dorset, to be held in Bridport at St Mary’s Church Hall. This is adjacent to the Bridport Community Orchard and a short talk and tour of the orchard will be included (and a picnic if the weather suits!). The main purpose of the full day event will be for groups to network and share experiences, and to think about future possible collaborations and mutual support if, as seems likely, the current funding for support through da21 ends at the end of May. So it could be a very important event for the future of transition and other green groups in Dorset, and it’s important that as many as possible attend to discuss ideas and options. The event will be free and we plan to have a professional facilitator to help make the event as productive as possible, as well as an enjoyable get-together.

The programme is still fluid at this stage, so do please let us know if you have any particular ideas about what to include. Further details and booking information will be circulated later.

Best wishes,
Susan
