New Transition Companion Book at Library

Thought I’d just pass on the info that Dorset Library Service now has a copy of the new Transition Companion book (currently I have it on loan).

I’ve had a quick browse through and it’s full of useful information regards transition – and quite motivational too, although personally I prefer to focus more on just doing transition type things for the positive things these bring – fun, working together, playing together, feeling good about loving the world in a practical way – rather than the focus on fears of climate change and peak oil. A difference over emphasis I guess – rather than objectives.

Anyway it is an interesting book, with a great introduction by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall – of the local Transition towns, Dorchester gets several mentions and I even recognised one of the people in a picture of a Dorchester Transition Initiative, which adds a certain je ne sais quois.

Definitely a book worth borrowing for those who want to learn more.

Cheers

Simon
