In memory of Pete Postlethwatie: The Age of Stupid

Dear All

In memory of Pete Postlethwaite: The Age of Stupid.

Just letting you know that the Cooperative, in association with Transition Sherborne, are showing The Age of Stupid on 30 March at Digby Memorial Hall, Digby Road, Sherborne, DT9 3NL at 7pm. Entry is free with a complementary glass of wine.

This is a must see film about climate change and the end of cheap oil. The film stars Pete Postlethwaite as a man living on his own in 2055 looking at old archive footage and asking why we didn’t we stop climate change when we had the chance. It is a film about real people and real situations such as Al Duvernay who was in the New Orleans flood and worked for an oil company and Fernand Pareau, an 82 year old mountain guide, who explains how he has seen the Mont Blanc glacier recede.

Fay Bowden says that the showing is open to all (with Coop members given priority but with a hall capacity of 200 I doubt if that will be an issue) but can you contact the team to let them know numbers at membership.sw@co-operative.coop or 01884 266892.

Best wishes
