Dorset Wildlife Trust wildlife gardening competition 2011

Dorset Wildlife Trust wildlife gardening competition

Dear Wildlife Friendly Garden Plaque holder,

I am writing to invite you to enter our second Annual Wildlife Friendly Garden competition and have attached an entry form and support notes.

We had nearly 60 entries last year and I hope many more will be keen to enter this year. I would particularly like to encourage those of you with smaller gardens to enter – they can be especially important for wildlife in urban areas. If you know a local school or Community Garden which is managed for wildlife, do apss on an entry form and encourage them to enter. For those of you who were visited last year as finalists, there is a special category for Best Improved Garden which I hope you will enter even if you have only managed to add one new feature to your garden.

Please note that there will be an Award Ceremony at Poundbury Garden Centre in Dorchester on July 14th with a guest speaker, refreshments and a chance to see photos of the wining gardens sponsored by The Gardens Group to which you are all invited. If you would like to reserve tickets, please let me know. Competition entrants will be entitled to two free tickets; otherwise tickets will cost £5 each. [Entry to the competition is free!]

I look forward to hearing from you and good luck with your entries.

Joy Wallis
Community Conservation Coordinator (Wildlife Gardening)

  1. DWT have created the opportunity for all of us to create wildlife habitat within our gardens. Large or small there are so many things that we can do to help insects, birds, hedgehogs etc to find a friendly place to live.
Equally they will give you hours of pleasure and a realisation that we are all one world.
    Please support this initiative.
I know that our PC and Bee groups will help you with information and support,
    Vince
